OUR VIKING BIRTHDAY PARTY

This term for birthday, the theme was Vikings, One thing that I learned is that the master of a slave would sometimes beat their slave up. They actually sometimes punished them! My sister Katrina was a Turkish trader. I liked her costume the most. My favorite cake was the shield which my table got. The coke was full of candy and icing. A neat thing that I liked the most was the jewelry the people were wearing. And also how it was shaped. Something I like about the Viking culture was that they made their skates out of animal bones. Well, there you go, I think you have learned something. I hope so!

~ Deirdre Robertson, Grade 4

This term the birthday party theme was Vikings. The interesting thing was that Vikings use to raid in other countries. I learned that other Vikings were kind. My favorite costume was Mr. Derek's. My favorite cake was the ax cake. The neat thing was that trolls were not real. The thing that I liked about the Viking culture was that they lifted stones in competitions.

Birthday Party
A time to have fun,
A time to enjoy
A time to make noise
A time to eat
A time to laugh
A time for jokes
A time for plays
And a time to
Talk with friends.

~ Henry Mulenga, Grade 6

Precious enjoys wearing the Viking hat for a game at the party.

THE CMML 6-SEATER

There were no tears,
A category dry.
Too many times,
To say good-bye.

There were no tears,
But a hug from the going,
Leaves our wonderful airstrip,
In need of no mowing.

"Good-bye, good-bye",
The after shocks come,
Tsunami no. II,
Ta-Ta to my chum.

~ Hannah Robertson, Grade 6

A STORY ABOUT GEORGE WASHINGTON CARVER

One morning George was reading a newspaper which said there was a bug that would kill the cotton. So he thought of doing something about it. He said he had to do something. In the morning the cotton was ruined. Everyone asked him what to do. He said they should plant ground nuts, So they did what he said. Then one day a woman came to the door and said that no one wanted to buy her groundnuts, and her children were starving. So George did an experiment on groundnuts and made milk, butter, ice-cream, and chicken out of them. One day he even made a whole meal!
