Fees & Funding

School Fees

Sakeji Mission School is a faith based mission that has been around for more than 100 years. The goal of the school is provide a quality, best in class education that meets the needs of the families that make up our school body. We strive to make every effort to keep the fees as low as possible. Being a mission, our goal is not to turn a profit but rather to invest in the school, community and future of as many as possible. Running the school falls into two distinct categories;  Tuition and Capital. The shortfall in running costs is covered by the generous financial support of interested churches and individuals worldwide.

School Fees

Sakeji Mission School charges a standard fee for each child in attendance each term. This fee is all inclusive and is the same for every grade and level of education. It’s used towards covering the costs of the books, education materials, food, boarding and utilities for the day to day running of the school.  Discounts are given on this fee for families with multiple children attending that term. 15% for the second child and 25% for each additional child after that.  Additionally, K100 per term is charged per child. This goes in into an emergency medical flight fund and is used if a child needs to be flown out for a medical emergency. This fund is used to ensure the school would have the funds in place if a child were to have to be flown out for a medical emergency to our partner mission hospital. Tuck Shop and rabies shots are offered on an optional basis. All Tuition Fees are billed per term and due before the start of the term.

Capital Improvements & Projects

Every staff/volunteer member at Sakeji pays a fee to the school each term that they are at Sakeji.  These fees along with donations from various people, churches and mission organizations are the fees that are used to build up and improve the school. These fees may also be used to cover any shortfalls. We do not use student fees for the improvements and upgrades to the school. These fees may also be used to cover any short falling in Tuition Fees to cover the cost of running the school.  We believe that as staff we serve the Lord here and are all partners committed to maintaining the mission the Lord has given us.

Sponsorships & Assistance

Sakeji does not operate its own student sponsorship program, nor does the school make decisions about external funding; however, many students have been sponsored over the years by individuals and organizations outside the institution.

Our finance department works with these sponsors to arrange partial or full support, and also administers a bursary fund, disbursed at the board’s discretion, to assist families facing financial hardship. If you are interested in sponsoring a student, contributing to the bursary fund, or have any questions, please contact our finance office.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why are your fees not listed on your website?

Fees are set on a term by term basis in order to make sure that we are in line with currency exchange rates. From time to time the board may apply a discount for a particular term to ensure that we do not burden families with unnecessary cost fluctuations. For this reason we do not post the fees on the web. Please contact the finance team for current terms fees.

What payment methods can be used?

Fees can be paid in cash or by bank transfers to our Kwacha or USD accounts in Zambia. If you are making payments from outside of Zambia, please contact the finance team for details. We do not accept credit cards, mobile money or POS payments.

What are the up front costs/deposits?

K50 is required with the submission of each application. Once a student is accepted, a deposit is required in order to secure their position within that class.  All other fees are paid at the beginning of the first term of school.  For more details and the fees schedule see the application process found here.  Apply To Sakeji.

What if our plans change?

Sakeji requires a deposit (equivalent of one term’s fees) which is paid over the first three terms at Sakeji. If you wish to withdraw your child, we require that you provide one term’s notice and this deposit will be applied to your student’s last term at Sakeji.
