Athletics

At Sakeji Mission School, we recognize the integral role of physical education in fostering holistic development. Our athletics program is designed to promote physical fitness, teamwork, discipline, and personal growth, aligning with our commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals.

Physical Education Curriculum

Our comprehensive physical education curriculum encompasses a wide range of activities, including athletics, basketball, cross-country, mountain biking, touch-rugby, tennis, football, and volleyball. Students are encouraged to learn new skills, apply them in various contexts, and link them to create controlled movement sequences. This approach promotes not only physical prowess but also mental and social development, aligning with our goal of nurturing well-rounded individuals.

Swimming Program

Swimming is a fundamental component of our physical education curriculum. Every student participates in structured swimming lessons, ensuring they acquire essential aquatic skills and confidence in the water. Our on-campus swimming pool provides a safe and convenient environment for these lessons, which are conducted regularly to cater to varying skill levels. Through consistent practice and guidance, students progress from basic techniques to more advanced swimming competencies.

Copperbelt Tour

Periodically students embark on a sports tour, a much-anticipated event where they compete against other schools in the Copperbelt region. Alternatively a school from the Copperbelt has brought a group of students to Sakeji for the same opportunities. Sports such as football, netball, and basketball are featured, offering students broader competitive exposure and the chance to interact with peers from diverse backgrounds. This tour enriches their athletic experience and fosters camaraderie, cultural exchange, and personal growth.

Molyneux

Poole

In memory of Mary Poole, esteemed for her compassionate service since 1950, embodying the Christ-like values we uphold.
